Where Can You Sell?

Local Exhibitions & Craft Fairs This is one of the best places to sell handmade products in India. Cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Lucknow regularly host craft markets, NGO bazaars, and weekend haats. Table rentals are affordable and footfall tends to be high. Display your products with simple paper tags sharing the story — handmade, Indian, artisan-made. That alone drives curiosity and sales.

Gift Shops and Boutiques Approach small boutiques, gift stores, and lifestyle shops in your area. Many such shops are actively looking for locally sourced, handmade products to stock. You can supply them wholesale from your own inventory at a margin that works for both of you.

College Fests and School Events College festivals across India are excellent selling opportunities. Stall costs are low and students are a strong market for embroidered mobile covers and compact potli bags. Tote bags also sell very well at these events.

WhatsApp Groups and Broadcast Lists Create a simple broadcast list on WhatsApp with good photos of the products. Announce new stock, share short stories about the artisans, and offer home delivery within your city. Many resellers do strong business simply through WhatsApp with zero overhead.

Instagram and Facebook Pages Set up a free page showcasing your inventory. You don't need professional photography equipment — good natural light and a plain background is enough. Post consistently, use hashtags like #handmadeindia #cottonbags #indiancraft, and you'll build a local following. We can guide you on what kind of posts work best.

Local Offices and Corporate Gifting Embroidered tote bags and potli bags make excellent corporate gifts. Approach HR departments, event management companies, or small businesses in your area during festival seasons (Diwali, Eid, Christmas, New Year). Bulk corporate orders can be very profitable.

Residential Societies and Kitty Parties In many Indian cities, residential societies hold weekly or monthly markets. Kitty party groups are also a strong buying audience for handmade products. All it takes is one good recommendation and word spreads fast.

How to Price Your Products

A general rule that works well: price your retail selling price at 1.6x to 2x of what you paid wholesale. This keeps your prices competitive in local markets while giving you a solid margin.

For example, if you buy an embroidered mobile cover at ₹350 wholesale, selling it at ₹600 ₹699 is perfectly reasonable and aligns with retail prices buyers already see online.

During exhibitions or fests, avoid pricing too low customers associate lower prices with lower quality. Let the product's beauty do the justifying.

What to Say When You Sell

You don't need a script, but having a few honest, simple talking points helps:

  • "These are handmade by artisans in India using traditional embroidery."
  • "The bag is 100% cotton no plastic, no synthetic."
  • "Every piece is slightly unique because it's made by hand, not a machine."
  • "It makes a great gift. We can pack it nicely for you."

People respond to genuine stories far more than polished sales pitches. The DhagaRoots story is worth telling — and it's true.

Display Tips for Exhibitions and Stalls

  • Hang jhola bags and tote bags at eye level using a simple rack or rope.
  • Display mobile covers in a small open basket or on a flat board with phone models labelled clearly.
  • Keep potlis and drawstring pouches in a bowl or tray — customers love picking them up and feeling the texture.
  • Use a small printed sign that says "Handmade in India | 100% Cotton" it attracts attention from a distance.
  • Always bring more stock than you think you'll need. Running out early is a lost opportunity.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order to get started?

You can start with as few as 10 pieces. We recommend beginning with a mixed selection across a few categories to understand what sells best in your local market.

Can I mix different products in my bulk order?

Yes, absolutely. You can mix jhola bags, mobile covers, tote bags, potli bags, theli bags, and water bottle bags in a single order. Your total quantity determines your pricing tier.

Do you offer custom or branded products?

We offer custom embroidery options for larger orders. If you want your name, brand, or a custom design on the products, get in touch and we'll discuss what's possible.

How is shipping handled?

We ship pan-India via trusted courier partners. Shipping charges apply based on your location and order weight. Orders of 100 pieces or more qualify for free shipping.

What if some products don't sell?

We suggest starting with our bestsellers embroidered mobile covers, potli bags, and jhola bags as these have the widest appeal. That said, we cannot accept returns on bulk orders, so start with a smaller quantity if you're testing a new market.

Can I sell online using your products?

Yes. Many of our resellers run their own Instagram shops or WhatsApp businesses using DhagaRoots products. We'll share guidelines on how to represent the products accurately.

How do I place repeat orders?

Once you're an approved reseller, you can reach us directly on WhatsApp or email to reorder at any time.
